  • ‚IRON CONSTRUCTION‘

The „Iron construction“ installation consists of the railway bar and a trainmodel. It was inspired by the Walter Benjamin book „The Arcades Project“. The drawing of the project was done in Medjedja in east Bosnia. While expanding itself economically and politically, the Austro-Hungarian empire had built a railway towards east in 1903. The railway was named ‚Bosnische Ostbahn‘ (Bosnian East Railway). The retired railway completely disappeared from the landscape when hydroelectric power plant on the river Drina were built. This work is a fragment of industrialization and a metaphor of the landscape in east Bosnia at the turn of the 20th century.
