Participation in a culture means to be visible and take place in society: being located - being present - taking part. However, a society consists of various parallel cultures, considering each other, „The other“. Participation of „The other“ for political purposes is often constructed as a threat to the welfare and prosperity. The identity formation of oneself is thus, based on exclusion. In order to maintain unity, the space of „The others“ must be destroyed.

The work „Burn your Neighbor“ symbolizes the act of ethnic cleansing and leaves the decision to the viewer to participate in the actual collapse of cultures.
